Half of Clinton Street blocked off for commercial today?
Josh Guttman | July 15, 2008
What’s up with the blockage of Clinton Street from Warren to Amity today for a commercial? How do people feel about this inconvenience…. both sides of the street sequestered? It’s great that film producers have discovered the beauty and charm of our neighborhood, but the frequency of filming and street closures is getting to be overkill. Sure, the city and local merchants get paid, but what about us?, you know…the ones who are actually inconvenienced. Please chime in and voice your opinions on this.

I find this very annoying. The film crew were on the street all day bossing people around. This is our neighorhood, let’s reclaim it!!
If they handed out free coffee to the neighbors, it would go a long way toward assuaging any resentment.
Those catering trucks are a waste anyway — they take up a lot of room and I never see any of the people involved in the shoot using them.

Well as a person who makes their living in the film and tv biz and as a neighbor I’m happy to see more production anywhere…(”frequency of filming and street closures” try living in the village or the LES!)Locations pays an incredible amount of money to merchants and put tons of money into the areas they shoot…thinking the have to pay off the neighbors is ridiculous! And SU you are wrong about those catering trucks we use them all day! As far as bossing people around…everyones got a job to do you can’t expect every pa to have a golden disposition..their job blows…you should hear the bossing around they get…
Just try being friendly to the crews and see how easy it becomes..we’re just making a living.
